Yes, completely free! There are no subscription fees, no premium tiers, and no hidden charges. You can create unlimited auction rooms, invite unlimited friends, and host as many auctions as you want without paying anything.
Yes! You can create multiple auction rooms at the same time. Each room has its own unique 6-character code. You can host several auctions in parallel with different groups of friends. Each auction operates independently with separate budgets, players, and results.
You can have up to 8 teams per auction room, mirroring the official IPL format. This includes the host team plus up to 7 other teams that join. If you want to run auctions with more than 8 teams, you can create a second room and split participants between them.
There are multiple ways to invite friends:
- Share Room Code: Copy the 6-character room code and share via message/call. Friends enter it on the home page's "Join Auction" panel.
- Copy Invite Link: Generate a shareable link and send via WhatsApp, Telegram, email, or any messaging platform.
- Share on WhatsApp: Get a pre-formatted WhatsApp message with your room code and send directly to contacts.
- Password Protection: Set a private passcode for additional security when sharing with larger groups.
⚙️ Room Configuration & Settings
Budget is the total virtual money each team has to bid on players. Default is ₹2000L (200 million), matching official IPL format. Once a team's budget runs out, they can't bid anymore. Higher budgets mean more flexibility; lower budgets mean tighter constraints and faster auctions. Choose based on your preference for casual vs intense gameplay.
Squad size is the maximum number of players each team can buy in the auction. Default is 25 players. Smaller squads (15-18) mean shorter, faster auctions with limited bench strength. Larger squads (25+) allow deeper rosters with more flexibility. Choose based on how long you want the auction to last.
The bid timer sets how long each player is available for bidding in seconds. Default is 30 seconds. During this time, teams can make multiple bids on the player. When time expires, the highest bidder wins the player. Shorter timers (10-15s) create fast-paced, intense auctions. Longer timers (45-60s) allow more strategic thinking.
Random Order: Players come up in unpredictable sequence. Nobody can prepare in advance. Creates exciting, unpredictable auctions with last-minute surprises.
By Category: All batsmen come first, then bowlers, then all-rounders. Allows strategic planning. You know which types of players are coming next and can prepare bidding strategy accordingly.
Yes! When creating an auction, you can optionally set a Passcode. When someone tries to join your room, they'll need to enter this passcode. This ensures only your invited friends can join. Share the room code and passcode only with people you trust. Passcodes are optional—leave it blank for public auctions.
💰 Bidding & Gameplay
Bidding works as follows:
- A player is displayed on screen with a starting base price
- All teams can bid, increasing the price
- Each team can place multiple bids on the same player
- Bids must be higher than the previous bid
- When the timer runs out, the highest bidder wins the player
- The winning team's budget is deducted by the final bid amount
- The process repeats for the next player
Yes! During the auction, you can see:
- Each team's remaining available budget
- Number of players each team has acquired
- Current highest bid on the active player
- Which team made the last bid
- Remaining time on the bid timer
This information helps you make informed decisions about whether to continue bidding or yield.
Once your team's budget reaches zero, you can no longer bid on players. You'll be locked out of remaining auction rounds. Other teams continue bidding until all players are sold or the maximum squad size is reached per team. Running out of budget early is a strategic risk—manage it carefully!
Yes, though it's not strategically wise. Sometimes players bid on players they don't need to:
- Block competitors: Drive up prices so rivals spend more budget
- Test strategy: Experiment with bidding tactics
- Fun factor: Create excitement and unpredictability
However, wasting budget on unwanted players is risky. You might miss crucial players you actually need later!
No, bids are final once placed. You cannot edit or retract a bid. Each bid incrementally increases the player's price. This is why it's important to think before bidding—make sure you really want the player at that price point!

🎯 Strategy & Tips
A balanced approach typically works best:
- 40% (~₹800L): Premium star players (captains, match-winners)
- 35% (~₹700L): Mid-tier quality players (consistent performers)
- 15% (~₹300L): Support players (role specialists, bench strength)
- 10% (~₹200L): Reserve fund (emergencies, last-minute pickups)
This prevents overspending on superstars while ensuring squad depth and flexibility.
Success requires multiple factors:
- Smart planning: Know which players you want before auction starts
- Budget discipline: Don't overspend early; maintain flexibility
- Market awareness: Track average prices and adjust strategy
- Selective bidding: Bid on fewer players but win at good prices
- Analysis: Evaluate player form and team needs thoroughly
- Boldness: Take calculated risks and capitalize on opportunities
Both approaches have merits:
Aggressive Strategy: Bid high early to secure star players. Risk: runs out of budget; misses late-stage opportunities.
Conservative Strategy: Bid selectively and preserve budget. Advantage: flexibility; can exploit late opportunities.
Hybrid Approach (Recommended): Bid aggressively on 2-3 must-have players, then switch to conservative bidding. Balances quality with flexibility.
Value depends on auction dynamics, but generally:
- All-rounders: Highest value (batting + bowling = dual utility)
- Star opening batsmen: High value (consistent run machines)
- Death-over bowlers: High value (crucial in T20 finishes)
- Wicket-keepers: Medium value (specific slots, but essential)
- Support players: Lower value (replaceable bench options)
Use these methods to evaluate player value:
- Compare similar players: What did comparable players fetch?
- Track average prices: Monitor prices across the auction
- Player form: Recent performance (last 5-10 matches, recent tournaments)
- Team needs: Does your team urgently need this position?
- Alternative availability: How many similar players remain unsold?
- Bid momentum: Is price inflating due to competition or value?

🎯 Advanced Strategies & Tips
Classic budget allocation for ₹2000L total budget:
- Batsmen (6-7 players): ₹800L (40%) - Focus on quality openers and middle-order
- Bowlers (4-5 players): ₹600L (30%) - Mix of pacers and spinners
- All-rounders (3-4 players): ₹400L (20%) - Dual-utility value
- Reserve (2-3 players): ₹200L (10%) - Bench strength and flexibility
Adjust percentages based on your auction's player availability and competitor strategies.
Champions find value where others don't. Look for:
- Recent form improvers: Players performing well recently but not hot names
- Returning from injury: Players coming back might be priced low despite quality
- Inconsistent performers: Had one bad season but historically strong
- Role specialists: Excel in niche positions that fill your specific needs
- Young emerging talent: Potential superstars not yet recognized
- Overlooked by competitors: Players others aren't bidding for due to lack of awareness
When facing bidding wars:
- Early assessment: Can you afford to win? Is it worth it?
- Incremental bidding: Small increases put pressure on competitors
- Large jump bids: Surprise high jump bid often causes opponents to fold
- Psychological tactics: Hesitation signals, sudden aggression, patterns all matter
- Know your walk-away price: Set maximum bid beforehand and stick to it
- Read competitors: Desperate players overpay; disciplined players back out early
Strategic watchlist usage:
- Primary targets: Must-have players you'll pursue aggressively
- Backup options: Similar-skill players to bid on if primaries overprice
- Competitor tracking: Star players competitors will likely bid for
- Value sleepers: Undervalued players you've identified as steals
- Category fills: Specific role players (openers, death bowlers, etc.) you need
Works best when you have 20-30 watchlist players across all categories.
Small Budget (₹500-1000L): Highly selective. Bid on absolute must-haves. Pass on most players.
Standard Budget (₹2000L): Balanced approach. Mix quality purchases with value picks.
Large Budget (₹3000L+): Can afford multiple premium players. Emphasis on depth over selectivity.
Fewer teams (2-3): Less competition. Can wait longer to bid. Better chance of value picks.
More teams (8): Higher competition. Bid earlier and faster. Premium players sell quickly at high prices.
Avoid these mental pitfalls:
- Auction fever: Getting caught up in bidding wars and overpaying
- Sunk cost fallacy: Continuing to bid because you already invested in a player
- Anchoring bias: First bid becomes reference point; bid higher consequently
- FOMO (Fear of Missing Out): Bidding on players you don't actually want
- Herd mentality: Everyone bidding on same stars instead of exploring value
- Emotional attachment: Chasing favorite players regardless of budget impact
⚙️ Auction Mechanics & Rules
Base bid prices are set algorithmically based on:
- Player performance rating (historical stats)
- Current form and recent matches
- Player role and category
- International vs domestic status
- Experience level (star vs emerging player)
This ensures fair starting points while allowing market forces (competitive bidding) to determine final prices.
Our real-time system processes bids with millisecond precision. If two bids arrive simultaneously:
- The system timestamp determines the order
- Slightly earlier bid wins priority
- Later bid is rejected and can be re-placed
- You'll see clear feedback on which bid won
Happens rarely due to millisecond timing. Internet speed and device timing affect this outcome.
Yes! Teams can place multiple bids on the same player throughout the auction round, but only the highest bid counts. Each new bid must be higher than the previous highest bid for that player. Once timer expires, the highest bidding team wins that player.
If a player receives zero bids when the timer expires, the player remains unsold and moves to the next auction round. The player may come up again later, or the auction might end if all remaining players are bypassed by all teams.
